Wanted to share feedback on my experience with your recruitment team in filling my Product Designer vacancy. The vacancy has been open since mid-Aug. Despite stressing the urgency of the role, expanding to 3 geographies and meeting weekly with the recruiter, there was limited progress.  The recruitment approach was very disappointing – felt very facilitative/transactional with no ownership/drive.  In November, after continuously expressing my dissatisfaction, I had asked to escalate and Adriann was added on the case which seemed to give things some speed, but then Adriann unexpectedly disappeared (I learned later she went on maternity leave).  Escalating further, my vacancy landed with Steve. Ever since Steve took over, my experience with recruitment drastically changed for the better.  Steve was experienced, committed, present, honest, with a strong bias for action.  I finally felt that I had a partner in recruitment who truly cared about filling the role (vs passively processing CVs as they came in).  Unlike the previous recruiter, Steve took my concern re “lack of diversity” seriously and was able to deliver qualified, diverse candidates.   He showed creativity in finding leads, ownership of the process and demonstrated tireless focus on the customer.  He became a thought partner, helping me navigate the decision process and providing valuable insights along the way.  Candidates I interviewed commented on GSK’s “transparent and personal” recruitment process, which speaks even more to the quality of the customer experience Steve was able to create. After 2 months, Steve found the candidate we needed, and I couldn’t be more grateful.  I just wish we got Steve in August, before our goals got jeopardized by not being able to fill this role for so long.
